S E T T I N G The island of Fairwater is a small island, tucked away in the Atlantic Ocean near New Jersey and untouched by humanity. Occasionally from the edge of Fairwater the jagged skyline from the coast of New Jersey is visible, however this isn't very often. Fairwater has a very large range of temperatures. In winter, the temperatures tend to be below ten degrees Fahrenheit. The average snowfall is about a foot, so it is not very good weather for many wolves. In early spring, the temperature springs up from under ten degrees to about forty or fifty degrees, and in late spring it becomes nearer to sixty or seventy. In summertime, the average temperature is eighty degrees Fahrenheit, with a peak of ninety or ninety-five. Again in autumn, the temperature falls to seventy, then to around forty or fifty - then winter begins and the temperature drops steeply again to under ten degrees.
In this area, natural disasters are not very common. A lot of times there are bad storms such as thunderstorms or snowstorms because the ocean is so nearby. This results in a large amount of snowfall and rainfall. However, the Fairwater area is not prone to earthquakes, tsunamis, or tornadoes. If there is any devastation as a result of a natural disaster, it will most likely be the effect of a storm.
